LITTLE BARRIE
SUPPORT: 250 cc
ROTE SONNE - MUNICH
Cast in the grand tradition of great British rock bands, and fueled by a love of American blues, funk and soul,
Little Barrie’s sixth studio album is the first released solely under the band’s own name since the death of drummer Virgil Howe in September 2017. The LP follows more than two decades of activity that have established the band as a key force in UK psychedelic rock and soul. Following Howe’s passing, Cadogan and founding bassist Lewis Wharton placed the future of the band on hold. After initial plans to resume playing were disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, the pair began collaborating with long-time friend
Malcolm Catto (The Heliocentrics). This partnership resulted in two albums, Quatermass Seven (2020) and Electric War, released on Easy Eye Sound in April 2025. For Gravity Freeze, the hooks are sharper, the grooves are deeper, and the atmospherics thicker, building on the band’s previous, highly-acclaimed work.

IMPORT EXPORT - MUNICH
СОЮЗ (SOYUZ) is a creative collective originally from Minsk, Belarus, that was founded by multi-instrumentalists Alex Chumak, the band's composer and principal arranger, and Mikita Arlou. After moving to Warsaw, Poland in 2022, they were joined by drummer Albert Karch and guitarist Igor Wiśniewski. The name of the band is translated as “union”, which reflects the creative nature of the relationship between its members and their collaborators. While the recordings of SOYUZ feature a wider array of instruments, live performances are reimagined by the quartet. They include musical insights from all the performers and leave room for collective improvisation.
Following the success of “Force of the Wind”, “KROK” has further cemented SOYUZ’ international reputation as a constantly evolving and adventurous music collective, with positive reviews from KEXP and Allmusic, features in TURN, &Premium, Radio FIP (who also added the album to their “Sélection FIP”), Songlines Magazine, DW Brasil, Worldwide FM, and airplay on KEXP, KCRW, BBC Radio 6, SWR, Radio Canada, NTS Radio and more. An international tour promoting the album started in February 2026, featuring often sold out shows in renowned venues such as London’s Jazz Cafe, Stockholm’s Fasching, Brussels’ Botanique, Amsterdam’s Paradiso, Zurich’s Moods and many more. The band also recorded a live performance for Giles Peterson at the legendary BBC Maida Vale studios. The next leg of their 2026 tour will take them to many new places and well known venues around Europe.

LITTLE BARRIE
15 NOV at ROTE SONNE, Munich
Buckle up for some serious groove and guitar wizardry - @littlebarrie will grace us at Rote Sonne. This psych-funk-blues-rock-trio from the UK revolves around singer and master-guitarist Barrie Cadogan, a guy who really knows his craft. Just ask Primal Scream, Liam Gallagher, the Black Keys or Heliocentrics’ Malcolm Cotto, who he all played with in the past. Or rewatch Better Call Sall, he did that guitar theme in the opening credits.
Anyway, where Cadogan shines the most is in his own band, Little Barrie, founded in 2000. They are touring their sixth album Gravity Freeze, where the hooks are even sharper, the grooves deeper and the atmospherics thicker than on the band’s previous, highly-acclaimed work. Cast in the grand tradition of great British rock bands, and fueled by a love of American blues, funk and soul, Gravity Freeze is the first album released solely under the band’s own name since the death of drummer Virgil Howe in September 2017. At Rote Sonne Barrie Cadogan will be joined by founding member Lewis Wharton on bass and Tony Coote on drums.
@250ccberlin are opening the night. A French-Italian guitar-and-drums duo based in Berlin, crafting raw, melodic guitar pop through the lens of late- ‚60s garage rock and vintage fuzz. Their sound balances immediacy and atmosphere, somewhere between the adventurous spirit of Love, the directness of early garage rock and their own stripped-back minimalism.

СОЮЗ (SOYUZ)
21 FEB at IMPORT EXPORT, Munich
Cinematic funk, balladesque folk and jazz driven-pop - SOYUZ is a real gem. A constantly evolving and adventurous collective that takes you on a warm, groovy and mysterious trip from Belarus to Brazil.
@gruppasoyuz
Multi-instrumentalists Alex Chumak and Mikita Arlou founded CO3 (SOYUZ) in Minsk, Belarus. After relocating to Warsaw in 2022, the band was joined by Polish musicians Albert Karch (drums) and Igor Wisniewski (guitar). The name, which means „union” reflects both the collaboration between its members and the project’s dual identity.
SOYUZ is, in fact, two bands in one. In the studio, Chumak serves as the composer, arranger, and artistic director, shaping meticulously crafted recordings that draw from jazz, folk, pop and classical music. On stage, however, SOYUZ becomes a different entity: the live quartet reimagines the music collectively, where improvisation and each member’s individual voice reshape the songs, often to a surprise of audience and band alike.

MAYA ONGAKU
16 SEP at IMPORT EXPORT, Munich
Summer will end eventually but don‘t be sad: maya ongaku are coming all the way from Japan and invite you to get lost in psychedelic-kraut-folk.
@maya_ongaku
Hailing from the seaside communities surrounding Enoshima, a small island located 50 km southwest of Tokyo, maya ongaku is a ragtag collective of local musicians whose brand of earthy psychedelia transcends widely beyond the roots of their inner souls.
The band, currently a trio of Tsutomu Sonoda, Ryota Takano, and Shoei Ikeda, finds sanctuary at the Ace General Store, a beachy vintage shop and salon-like space just hidden from sight from the bustling, touristy riverside Subana Street where they jam and record their spontaneous ideas. It’s in this unlikely setting where maya ongaku finds its origins, the culmination of what Sonoda describes as 自然発生 (shizen hassei), meaning spontaneous generation, or the supposed production of living organisms from nonliving matter.

07 NOV - WITCH returns to Strom
🇿🇲 This incredible unique story is not told to the end - and you can be part of it 🌞
WITCH
is The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath of Zambia. The biggest rock band of the 1970‘s and the pioneers of so-called Zamrock, a unique expression of psychedelic rock mixed with traditional Zambian rhythms. They revolutionized music before going underground in times of struggle. But their legacy was so strong, that it survived. When musicologists unearthed and re issued the legendary band, Jagari Chanda, the only surviving original member, was still out there and ready to preach rock & roll once more …

Fusing influences that range from the Rolling Stones to Black Sabbath and James brown, mixed with traditional African Rhythms, the power of Zamrock is inevitable!
The charismatic lead singer Jagari, now in his 60s, didn’t lose any of his stage presence or energy and will make your lazy bones dance!

Do you know what “L’Éclair” means? ⚡ For our INFINITE finale, we got both: the band and the bolt.
Starting with the psychedelic cumbia of @cosmicabandida, the polyrhythms of @devonrexi, the heavy fuzz of @lucidvox, and the queer power-pop house of @babyberserkmusic, night goes full endorphin mode—serving a long, delicious lineup! 🌋(And that’s just main stage…)
L’Éclair take this high-tension to its peak with rhythm alchemy born of Swiss electro/acoustic instinct, groove and dynamics locking bodies and minds in step. This is what drifting on a cloud feels like.

✨ the Queen of neo-soul presents her new album. Float on the summer vibes ✨
LADY WRAY
Known for her powerful vocals, reminiscent of icons like Aretha Franklin, LADY WRAY’s recent LP Piece of Me blends soul and R&B with infectious, boom-bap beats and chunky bass lines that take you back to the golden age of late ‚90s R&B. From a teenage Missy Elliott discovery to a seasoned artist carving her own path, Lady Wray’s journey has been as dynamic as her sound. Now, she brings her full self — mother, wife, and unstoppable creative — into every note, offering a deeply personal and unfiltered performance you won’t want to miss.

Here’s some appreciation and love for everything that’s happening right now!
We won the APPLAUS Award 2024! This is an important milestone for us and our cultural endeavor over the past seven (yes, seven!) years. It’s also a big motivation to keep going.
You must know—it’s not a given that we’re still here doing this. Every year is a challenge, and there are moments when we’re close to giving up. The financial struggle is very real, and we constantly find ourselves torn between keeping subculture affordable and securing enough support to keep us afloat.
My deepest appreciation goes out to my wonderful parents and my entire family, who have supported this venture from the very beginning—with unwavering faith and unconditional love.
Another person I owe so much to is Aiko Blumer. Her beautiful mind and artistic genius have been a guiding light through the chaos, the failures, and the unforgettable moments of joy and fulfillment.
A special shoutout goes to David Hoehn for his emotional support and those deep conversations that kept me sane in the toughest times.
Thank you, Lenny, for still being by our side, offering your sharp critiques and lending a helping hand when it’s most needed!
A huge thank you to Import Export—Oli, Katha, Lilly, Sascha, Fabsl, and everyone who works or has worked there! Without you, it just wouldn’t be the same. What we have is a truly special kind of symbiosis.
Massive thanks to all the great musicians and friends that came by through the years and became part of what we are!
Thank you, Initiative Musik, for doing an incredible job with this award and for fighting for all of us on a political level.
Last but not least, thank YOU! Thank you for being part of this journey through wild waters and musical peaks. Stay with us—you’ll be rewarded with more incredible music and a community that’s helping make Munich a better place!
Let‘s make 2025 the best year ever, no matter how mad the whole world is!
With love,
Veit

‘New Internationale’—their musically irrepressible and emotionally sophisticated third album, and their debut for Brainfeeder—is deliberate in a way Kit Sebastian has never really been. They wrote most of it on the road, energised by the sounds they discovered as they magpied instruments during their travels—Turkish clarinet, santour, oud, gangsa, zither, harpsichord, and on and on. They cut most of the tracks in London during brief breaks, longtime drummer Theo Guttenplan and double bassist David Richardson joining a panoply of horn, string, and percussion players. And during a year off from the road, where K. and Merve could concentrate on making sure the pieces moved together, they decamped to the French countryside for two weeks, leaving the distractions and moodiness of home. They captured vocals for 14 songs there in only half that time. Both Kit Sebastian’s busy touring schedule and subsequent break from it allowed Merve to step fully into these songs and their ever-shifting shapes, her confidence and versatility rising in tandem.

Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band, the mysterious steel pan outfit hailing from Hamburg, Germany
have amassed a cult following around the globe. With a slew of classic 7”s and three critically
acclaimed full length albums, they set a high bar for themselves, one they clearly intend on
pushing even higher with this new offering. On their fourth album BRSB, Bacao are back with
more of the same, but more of the same with them is inherently different. Covering songs that
span genres and range from mega hits to underground album cuts, they make them their own
with their unique approach to the traditional steel pans of Trinidad and Tobago.

Going back to the roots, but higher! 🏔️
In November, heavy fog rolls across the land, and the sun is somber and shy. Just the right mood to dive back into some evocative stoner rock. Yearning vocals, deep guitars, and hefty bass grooves define these three bands. With a light touch, they break through generic structures, revealing roots that stretch into blues, psychedelia, or doom.
