Founded early 2017 in Munich, Behind the Green Door has emerged as a counter cultural boiling point for those who seek musical enlightenment besides the ways of mainstream. With a very selective booking, ranging from Neo-Psychedelic over Krautrock to Jazz and more experimental genres, the emphasis is always on the experience of live music with all senses. The events are supported by stunning visuals and a distinctive art style in reminiscence to the "golden age of music", but with a nowadays approach. It thrives through the matter, the people and the love for music. This idealism has brought together an independently community of music lovers from all ages, genres and nationalities to celebrate together the magic that is music. The PSYCHEDELIC PORN FUNK EXPERIENCE is an organic rave with handpicked live music, sophisticated vinyl slingers and a mind blowing analogue light show by Kreuzer Lichtmaschine. Behind the curious name lives an ever evolving experimental dance party with a reputation that goes far beyond Munich. Our residents Thur Deephrey, Seducation, Ellis Dee and Bruno Sultan line up with well known vinyl diggers like Ernesto Chahoud, Booty Carrell, Markey Funk or JJ Whitefield. Special live performances are part of the concept and include acts like Kikagaku Moyo, King Khan & The Shrines, Ouzo Bazooka and L'Eclair. A unique soundtrack of Psychedelic Funk, Middle Eastern Psych, Afrobeat, Cumbia & Tropicalia, Surf & Garage will make you shake all night long. Genres are melting under the pressure of a young generation, that is redefining old statutes and will be seen as a trailblazer for a new found freedom in Jazz. Kreuzer Lichtmaschine Analogue Lightshow
Kreuzer Lichtmaschine are two Munich-based artists who have created their own analogue light show. They have been creating visuals and artworks for various live shows or bands in the past few years. Leonard Will & Lucien Lietz did the cover artwork for our first ever release EMBRYO Live Behind the Green Door that was released on Permakultur Schallplatten.
